My thoughts on having a spiritual teacher or a coach

When I choose a leader or teacher or coach or a guide, I make sure it is someone who empowers me to connect with my own inner power and free will. I’ve seen many people put other individuals on pedestals and inevitably they fall off since we are all human. This has a lot to do with the issue of a leaky solar plexus which I go into much more detail about in my book, “Solar Plexus Overhaul.” I’ve also seen dynamics where the teacher or coach becomes dependent on the energy of the student and vice-versa. It can really be a dangerous game and a threat to individual sovereignty and inner connection.

My own spiritual teachers, the Rav and Karen Berg, always pointed me in the direction of strengthening my relationship to the Divine and to myself…like the name of one of the Rav’s books, “The Power of You”(highly recommend).

Another beautiful thing about @karen.berg was that she encouraged me to explore and learn from all different types of people, cultures and pathways to always expand my awareness of what the world and people have to offer.  She had an incredible awareness and understanding of the vast variety of human experiences that exist. Her connection to the divine was so REALIZED that she was able to go beyond the box of her “place” in the world and be a light for people from all different faiths and corners of the globe. To me that is an important quality of a genuine spiritual teacher–that recognition of the oneness on the level of soul.
