Now is where I want to be

The other day I listened to a lecture by Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn,

American professor emeritus of medicine and the creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which was delivered to a room full of students and faculty at Dartmouth University.

He made the point that NOW is actually the future I was probably ruminating on, thinking about, obsessing about, visualizing months ago…

This awareness really struck a chord with me, because one of the lessons I personally need to learn is to be fully present in my own life as it is….to be less in the future, and to feel that I am truly alive, enjoying and creating from this moment.  For sure, I believe there is room for having goals and nurturing a vision for the future, but the quickest way to get there is to be able to come into peace within myself.

This entails:

-accepting what perhaps didn’t go the way I had hoped or planned

-accepting the current conditions rather than perpetually resisting them

-releasing my aversion to life as it is now…and in doing all that revealing a vibe that is aligned… peaceful…strong…and certain…liberated.

From that place of inner connection, I easily draw (notice I put it in the present tense as it is all happening now) the right people, places, things, and even the right and most nourishing food at the right time.

Love this affirmation: “I  make aligned decisions and I am able to share my energy with other people in a way that brings benefit to both and all.”
